How do I move into EXO Self Storage - Sparks/Spanish Springs?
You can rent online, at our self service kiosk, or by visiting us directly during our office hours. Full move-in instructions (gate code, how to access unit, etc) will be sent via text & email once the unit is paid for and the rental agreement is signed. All customers who rent storage units at this facility are required to purchase a cylinder lock from us.

How do I move into EXO Self Storage - Boat & RV?
You can rent online, at our self service kiosk, or by visiting us directly during our office hours. Full move-in instructions (gate code, how to access unit, etc.) will be sent via text & email once the unit is paid for and the rental agreement is signed. The entrance to EXO Self Storage - Boat & RV is right off Golden Triangle Way next to the Rowan Apartments. It is not the same facility as and is not connected to EXO Self Storage - Sparks/Spanish Springs.

How do I move in to EXO Self Storage in Washoe Valley?
You can rent online or over the phone. There is no office or manager on site at EXO Self Storage - Washoe, so rentals will need to be done in one of these two ways. Full move-in instructions (gate code, how to access unit, etc.) will be sent via text & email once the unit is paid for and the rental agreement is signed.

Am I required to store long-term?
No, we provide month-to-month leases. You can store with us short or long-term.

When is the rent due?
On the first of the month. This date is the same for all tenants at all of our facilities and cannot be moved or adjusted.

What is the move out process?
We require seven days notice ahead of moving out. Once notice is given, the lock needs to be removed (you can keep the lock) and the contents need to be completely emptied out of the storage space on your scheduled move out date to avoid additional lock cut or cleaning/disposal charges. Once a manager verifies the unit is ready to rent to another customer, they will finalize the move out by removing your account from our system. Only managers can remove your account; this is not something that can be done by yourself on our website. We do not pro rate out rent for unused days before the first of the month.

What if I forget my gate code?
Your gate code can be found by creating a tenant account on our website with the email you signed the rental agreement with. For customers of EXO Self Storage - Sparks/Spanish Springs and EXO Self Storage - Boat & RV, your gate code can also be found at the self service kiosk.

Do I have 24 hour access to the facility?
No, the gate access hours to all of our facilties are 6AM - 9PM every day (even holidays). These hours are not the same as our office hours and there is no manager that lives on site at any of our facilties. If you need to speak to a manager, please contact us during our office hours (found on the "Contact Us/Hours" tab at the top of this page).

How do I pay my storage bill?
Payment can be made on our website by clicking on the "Tenant Account Login" button, by giving us a call, or by visiting our office (EXO Boat & RV + Sparks/Spanish Springs customers only). Autopay is required for storing at EXO Self Storage - Sparks/Spanish Springs and EXO Self Storage - Boat & RV.
What size are the storage unit doors?
For our 12 ft units, the doors are approximately 10 ft wide. For our 10ft wide units, the doors are approximately 8 ft wide. Our 5 ft Boxwell units have doors that are approximately 3.5 ft wide and our 8 ft & 10 ft Boxwell units have doors that are approximately 5.5 ft wide. All of our doors are approximately 6 ft tall. If you have a larger item or are looking to store a vehicle in a storage unit, please measure it before moving in to verify that it will fit.
What is the height inside the storage units?
From floor to ceiling, the units are approximately 7-8 feet tall.

What should I do if I have issues opening/closing my unit's door?
Storage unit doors are opened by applying pressure with your foot on the bottom handle and sliding the latch once the lock is removed. They are closed by pressing your foot on the handle, closing the same latch, and placing the lock on it. If you encounter issues while following these instructions, check to make sure there are no obstructions in the door's bottom track (where the door meets the ground) such as rocks or other debris. If there are no obstructions and the door is still having issues, please give us a call at 775-852-9206 and we can make arrangements with you for the door to be repaired.
What items am I not allowed to store?
Perishables, improperly packaged food, plants, animals, stolen or illegal goods, flammable or hazardous gas items, combustible items, and any personal property that would result in the violation of any law or regulation of any government authority.

Do the units have power & lights inside of them?
No, none of our storage units have power outlets or lights inside of them.
